To ensure a fair, safe and enjoyable experience for all participants, please read the following Competition & Awards Rules carefully before entering.

Eligibility

• Competitions are open to individuals aged 16 years and over.
• Competitors under the age of 18 must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
• Competitors may only enter the categories they have successfully registered for.
• Entries will only be confirmed once full payment has been received.

Entries & Fees

• All competition entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
• Entry fees cannot be refunded due to illness, travel disruption, withdrawal or any other personal circumstances.
• In the unlikely event that The Creative Edit cancels the competition, entrants will be contacted regarding the available options.

Models

• Competitors must provide their own model unless otherwise stated.
• Models must be 16 years of age or over.
• Competitors are responsible for obtaining their model's consent.
• All required product patch testing should be completed before the event. The Creative Edit cannot accept responsibility for allergic reactions or sensitivities.

Competition

• Competitors must arrive and register within the allocated registration period.
• Late arrivals may not be permitted to compete.
• All work must be completed within the allocated competition time.
• Competitors must use professional products and work safely at all times.
• Only the registered competitor(s) may complete the competition entry unless the category specifically requires teamwork.
• Hair styling, accessories and wardrobe may be used to enhance the overall concepts.
• Pre-prepared prosthetics, face charts or reference imagery may be used for inspiration only. The makeup application and hairstyling itself must be completed during the competition.

Judging

• All entries will be judged by an independent panel of industry professionals.
• Judging will be based on the published criteria for each competition category.
• Judges' decisions are final and no correspondence or appeals will be entered into.

Competitors will be judged on:

• Creativity & Originality
• Technical Execution
• Use of 3D Media (where appropriate)
• Moodboard
• Teamwork/Professional Conduct
• Theme/Trend Interpretation
• Overall Presentation
• Judges will also consider your interpretation of the theme, design inspiration, attention to detail and the overall impact of the finished look.

Professional Conduct

Unsportsmanlike behaviour, unsafe working practices or failure to follow event instructions may result in disqualification.

All competitors are expected to demonstrate professionalism and respect throughout the event.

The organisers reserve the right to disqualify any participant whose behaviour is considered:

• Unsafe
• Disrespectful
• Unsportsmanlike
• Disruptive
• In breach of these rules

Photography & Media

By entering, competitors agree that photographs and video footage captured during The Creative Edit may be used by SHELEN, The Creative Edit, Warpaint Magazine and event partners for promotional, editorial and marketing purposes.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the highest-scoring competitors and teams across each competition category.

Additional awards, including sponsored awards and special recognition awards, may be presented at the discretion of the judging panel and event organisers.

Awards are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Terms & Conditions

• Entry fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
• By entering, competitors agree to be photographed and filmed during the event. Images and video may be used by The Creative Edit, SHELEN and event partners for marketing and promotional purposes.
• Competitors retain ownership of their original creative work; however, The Creative Edit reserves the right to publish photographs and video of entries with appropriate credit.
• The organisers reserve the right to amend competition details, timings or schedules if necessary.
• Judges' decisions are final, and no correspondence regarding results will be entered into.
• By entering the competition, participants confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to these rules and terms.
• The organisers reserve the right to amend competition schedules, timings, judges or event details where necessary.
• Competitors remain responsible for their own equipment, products and personal belongings.
• By entering, participants confirm they have read, understood and agree to abide by these Competition & Awards Rules.
• Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification without refund.
• The Creative Edit reserves the right to make the final decision on all matters relating to the competitions and awards.
